Description

The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics at the University of Iowa, a Big Ten University with a longstanding history of academic excellence, is seeking a pediatric epileptologist. The successful candidate will join the Division of Child Neurology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services. The incoming physician will provide clinical services, including RNS/DBS programming, epilepsy surgical evaluation and planning, intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring, bedside long-term EEG monitoring, and routine EEG. Candidates of any academic rank are encouraged to apply.

  • Be involved in world-class programs - The university is part of the Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium and has its own Iowa Neuroscience Institute 
  • Robust and well-established pediatric neurology and pediatric epilepsy program with clinics in infantile spasms, neonatal neurology, Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance multidisciplinary TSC, new onset seizure, and ketogenic diet 
  • University will consider establishing new clinics based on the interests and expertise of the applicant in genetics, CDKL5, Rett, and more
  • Level 4 Epilepsy Center with active epilepsy surgical program and robot-assisted s-EEG implantation, SPECT, source localization, LITT, DBS, and soon RNS experience
  • There is a robust intracranial electrophysiology research program in adults and pediatrics
  • Able to support all visa options/needs
